School's Out Bike Bash at the VBS Bike Park

Join us on Saturday, June 11, from 2:00- 5:00 pm for a family-friendly afternoon of riding and racing! With a variety of events on the docket, there's something for every type of rider and no shortage of action to watch unfold, from head-to-head Straight Rhythm duels, to kids & older short-track racing and highest/longest jump competitions it's going to be a jam-packed day of bike excitement.

Don't ride but still want to come see the fun? Come enjoy a cold drink from Flock Shop, a snow cone from Carolina Gourmet Snowballs, while kicking off summer in the best possible way.

*HELMETS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE*

Short-Track XC Races: 2:00 pm

Under 16 and Over 16 categories will compete in multi-lap races of our perimeter trail vying for the Short-Track XC titles. The half-mile perimeter trail loop serves up tight, treed singletrack, swooping 'S' turns, short power climbs and fun little descents to keep competitors on their toes, get the heart rates up and the action high for riders and viewers alike. Expect 10-15 minutes of racing for the Under 16 categories and 15-20 minutes of racing for the Over 16 categories. Come help burn in the perimeter trail and get your race fitness tuned up for your mountain bike race season!

Wade’s Restaurant Short-Track Kids Races: 2:30 pm

With categories available for everyone from little tykes rolling on their first balance bikes to 12 years old gearing up to join the local NICA team, the kids short-track races offer a fun challenge for young bikers to get a little taste of racing. The short-track courses are made up of age appropriate features that create smile-inducing riding for the kids and action for their supportive parents & fans to enjoy. Entry is free and everyone is assured a medal and reward for their efforts! Come out and support the next generation of riders!
