Spartanburg Food System Coalition

The Spartanburg Food System Coalition exists to strengthen all aspects of the local food system, provide greater access to healthy food and address the food system comprehensively. We do this by advocating for accessibility of local healthy food, facilitating communication between organizations-including non-profits, foundations, corporations, universities, colleges and school systems- and growing capacity for addressing food-related issues and challenges in Spartanburg.

Members

The Spartanburg Food System Coalition was founded in 2015. In August of 2018 we held our first public meeting and shortly thereafter we received a USDA Local Food Promotion Program grant to develop a Greenville/Spartanburg Food System Assessment and Plan. In 2019, we formalized under PAL.
