The Passport Challenge

EAT LOCAL PASSPORT

Use your Eat Local Passport to explore Spartanburg and the Upstate like never before; through the lens of local food. 

From the farms where your food is grown, to the markets and stores where it’s sold, to the restaurants where it's served - this passport is your invitation to travel through our local food system and collect its stories along the way. 

Visit at least 25 local food locations by December 30th, 2025. Each stop you make is a stamp in your journey where you can fill your pages with dates, signatures or stamps, and notes about your experience. Think of it as a scrapbook of your local food adventure! 

Once you’ve completed your journey, return your passport to PAL to earn a limited-edition tote bag designed by local artist Cat Judice

How to Participate 

1.

Explore Our Local Food System 

Visit the farms, market vendors, shops, and restaurants listed in your passport OR discover new ones on your own. 

2.

Mark Your Visit 

To complete a page in your passport, be sure to include: 

  • The date you visited 
  • A stamp or signature from the location 
  • A note about your visit (what you bought, tried, or loved!)  

Not every location has a stamp, but staff signatures work just as well!  

Ordering online from the PAL Food Hub? You can get your stamp when you pick up your order!

Add Your Own Finds 

Use the blank pages to document your favorite local food spots. Just get a signature, jot down the date, and write a quick note about your experience! 

Claim Your Prize 

When you’ve logged 25 local food experiences in your passport, bring your passport to one of the following drop-off locations: 

📍 PAL Office 
226 S. Spring St., Spartanburg, SC 
Thursdays, 12:00–5:30 PM (during Food Hub pickup) 

📍 Hub City Farmers Market 
498 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC 
Saturdays, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM (look for the PAL/Market table)

Your passport includes 15 locations to get you started and space for 16 more of your own! Below are examples of local food businesses where you can earn stamps and signatures.
