PAL creates opportunities for active living and healthy eating for everyone, centered around Spartanburg County.
PAL has supported the implementation and improvement of the MBF Rail Trail since it opened in 2006. In order to improve the section of the trail between Forest Avenue and Country Club Road, PAL facilitated a lease agreement of seven acres of undeveloped land owned by Duke Energy. The City of Spartanburg currently holds the lease that allows the space to become community recreational space. A project that started as simply clearing out vegetation has turned into the creation of a $1.9M park that PAL developed with the City of Spartanburg.
The park is located at 353 Forest Avenue with parking along Glendale Road.
Step back in time at Trolley Plaza, where a restored historic trolley car anchors this gathering space with shaded seating and local history.
