Landrum, S.C. – PAL: Play. Advocate. Live Well. announces a Saluda Grade Trail public information session planned for August 18th at the Landrum Farmers Market. Anyone interested in learning more about the trail is encouraged to attend this casual, drop-in style evening from 5pm until 7pm. Representatives from PAL and SeamonWhiteside, the trail design team, will be on hand with visuals to answer questions including potential trailhead locations, trail widths, and more.
"This information session is an important opportunity for community members to learn more about the Saluda Grade Trail, see the latest plans, and share their perspectives,” says Laura Ringo, executive director, “At PAL, we are committed to keeping our community informed and engaged throughout every stage of this project. We believe the best outcomes are achieved through open communication and meaningful community participation, and we encourage everyone with an interest in the project to join the conversation."
This exciting evening will showcase the first portion of plans for construction: five (5) miles of trail from the North Carolina state line to Landrum. The timeline and order of construction is not yet confirmed and is contingent on pending funding. Anyone who is interested should stop by the information session to find out how to become involved!
The planned Saluda Grade Trail will travel through scenic Upstate South Carolina into the mountains of Western North Carolina. The route passes through charming small towns including Inman, Campobello, Landrum, Tryon, Saluda, and Zirconia. PAL has partnered with Conserving Carolina to spearhead this effort. These organizations share a commitment to serving their communities and providing places for outdoor recreation.
