Mary Black Foundation Rail Trail

Rail Trail

The Mary Black Foundation Rail Trail is a 1.9 mile rail-to-trail conversion from a former Norfolk Southern railroad corridor that is a showpiece of the Daniel Morgan Trail System. It is also a point of connection with the Palmetto Trail.

This paved urban trail came to be known as the MBF Rail Trail, or simply “The Rail Trail” to many local residents. The Trail parallels two major roads and connects many neighborhoods to downtown Spartanburg.

The Trail is located adjacent to many restaurants, retail businesses, and recreational facilities. Conveniently located between South Pine Street and Union Street, the trail has access points at 295 East Henry Street and at 105 Country Club Road and is wheel-chair accessible. Additional parking is available along Glendale Road and behind the Flock Shop at 970 S. Pine St.
